EN3 (070M20) BLACK
Engineering Steel
EN3B is a general engineering steel, suitable in applications where heavy stresses and heat treatment are not involved, such as welded and riveted structures, forgings, machined parts and hot pressing. Apollo Metals stock this in a range of sizes and shapes.
Ideal for use in a variety of general engineering applications, EN3B can be case hardened and is normally supplied in the as drawn / as turned condition. EN3B steel will withstand a moderate amount of cold deformation and only offers low strength but good machinability. The material has good weld ability characteristics however it has poor hardenability.
Overall a general-purpose mild steel, readily weld able and suitable for case hardening.
